East Valley has been deemed an approved site for loan repayment through National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and the Steven M. Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program through the State of California.
Reimbursement for License, DEA, and Board Certification renewal fees after 90 days of employment.
CME allowance of both 40 hours and $800 per calendar year for CME activities.

Founded in 1970, East Valley Community Health Center has been steadfast in its commitment to meet the health care needs of the low-income and underserved within our targeted community. East Vall...ey has evolved from a free clinic that focused on family planning and counseling services (1970-1980) into a comprehensive health care provider; and since 2002, a Federally Qualified Health Center under Section 330 (e) of the Public Health Act. Today East Valley, via its four clinics in West Covina, Pomona, Covina and La Puente, has become an essential provider of healthcare services for the communities it serves within the East San Gabriel and Pomona valleys.
East Valley is a private nonprofit corporation, classified as a 501(c)(3) organization. A Board of Directors, with a consumer majority, governs East Valley. Our structure ensures community representation and, as a result, programs and services that are responsive to expressed community needs. This inherent commitment to serve our community, regardless of ability to pay, differentiates us from most other providers in the community. Our philosophy of guaranteeing patients a “Safety Net” in their community, where they can access comprehensive primary care for their entire family continues.
Our Service Area:
East Valley operates five facilities in West Covina, Pomona, Covina and La Puente. In 2015 we provided over 85,062 visits to 21,109 unduplicated individuals. Services provided include: Adult Family Practice, Family Planning, Pediatrics, Prenatal and Postnatal care, Dental Health, HIV/AIDS comprehensive care, Women’s Health Care, and Mental Health.
Nutrition, care coordination and care management are an integral part of our chronic disease management services. As part of our integrated services, all patients coming to East Valley receive a mental health and substance use assessment. Patients requiring assistance in these areas can readily obtain it from our mental health professionals. Pharmacy services are available at all of our health centers.
Within the East San Gabriel and Pomona valleys, East Valley is one of the largest healthcare providers for low-income and uninsured adults; 46% of our patients exhibit at least one the following chronic conditions: diabetes, hypertension, asthma and/or obesity. Our HIV services provide ongoing care to at least 350 patients and on annual basis we provide comprehensive services at least 600 homeless individuals.
Additionally, East Valley provides outreach and prevention education sessions to populations at high risk of contracting HIV, as well as reproductive health information and STD prevention sessions to teenagers and young adults.
In order to reach out to the community in new and innovative ways, East Valley utilizes Facebook, Google and Twitter. At each of these sites, community members can receive up-to-date information about the clinic and learn ways that they can support East Valley’s mission.
Patients receiving services at East Valley come from the cities of: West Covina, Covina, Azusa, Baldwin Park, La Puente/Bassett, El Monte, Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, Pomona, Ontario, Montclair, and Claremont.
Over 90% of the patients receiving services at East Valley are below the 200% poverty level, 41% do not have any type of health insurance and receive services under public contracts and sliding fee scale. Our patients’ ethnicity is currently made up of 81% Latino, 9% White, 3% African American, and 5% Asian. The remaining 2% are unknown. Thirteen percent (13%) of our patients are 12 years of age or under; 7% are 13 to 19 years old; 29% are 20 to 39 years old; 45% are 40 to 64 years old; and 6% are over 64 years of age.
Our Team Members:
The Care Teams at East Valley Community Health Center include physicians, dentists, mid-level providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners), mental health professionals, and Registered Dieticians; our licensed professionals are supported by R.N. Care Managers, case managers, medical assistants and a large number of customer service representatives and other support team members. Our outreach team is composed of health educators and community health workers. Our team members are mostly bilingual and bicultural reflecting the characteristics of the patients we serve. East Valley currently employs over 220 team members.
