Position Summary: Under the direction of Assistant Chief Nursing Officer for Critical Care Services, is responsible for planning, organizing and directing of the operations and staff of the Critical Care Services (Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit, Medical Cardiac Unit/Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit, Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Adult ED's/Low Acuity Stabilization-Holding Area; Medical and Surgical/Neuro Sciences Intensive Care Units, Burn Care Unit-1300, and the Intermediate Care Units, 3-West and 3-South). In conjunction with the other Clinical Directors, ACNO's, and the CNO upholds the standards of nursing practice and implements cost effective programs to ensure that the highest level of safety and quality patient care is being delivered. The Clinical Director actively engage and partner with stakeholders to support shared leadership and to resolve issues and meet the professional needs of those who participate in assigned division, units, programs, and services within their respective scope.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. A Master's Degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field or the ability to successfully complete postgraduate degree within three (3) years from date of hire. Five (5) years of recent clinical experience in the areas of responsibility and three (3) years experience in a clinical supervisory role.
Licensing/Certification Requirements: Current State of Nevada License as to Practice as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain professional certification in Nursing Administration/Leadership from a nationally recognized certification body within one (1) year of hire.
Master's degree in Nursing or closely related field
Previous experience working in Burn Care/IMC in a leadership or management role
Critical Care Nursing experience that includes: Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, Intermediate Care and/or a combination of those experiences
Professional Nursing/Leadership certification
