This position is within Reynolds American Services Company—a subsidiary that provides support services, including compliance, HR, law, finance, information management, and more to all of the subsidiaries of RAI.
This position will assist in the development of enterprise-wide strategies and advocacy efforts as they relate to FDA engagement on regulatory science, in particular the social and behavioral sciences. Through leadership and technical expertise, this position supports projects and programs aligned with scientific strategies for regulatory submissions related to new and existing products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Apply evidence-based, effective, and innovative scientific and/or statistical principles to address complex regulatory requirements for product submissions in the area of consumer perceptions and behavioral intentions.
Contribute to the existing departmental scientific and methodological expertise by identifying and assessing emerging theories and methodologies and applying gained expertise to meet research objectives that align with strategic goals.
Assist in the development of tactical plans that support research strategies and advocacy efforts including collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders across a broad set of disciplines and contexts.
Support, develop, and execute consumer perceptions and behavioral intentions research efforts that support regulatory submissions for current and future products.
Graduate degree in public health, behavioral sciences, or related field required. Advanced graduate degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of relevant research experience
Experience in consumer perceptions and behavioral intentions research;
Broad understanding of the tobacco category;
Experience with the FDA regulatory environment and regulatory submissions;
Strong ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to both known and new information;
Ability to identify and analyze data aligned with regulatory strategies;
Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects, as well as to complete multiple projects efficiently and on schedule;
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
Excellent verbal and written communication, including technical writing; and,
Ability to critically assess the scientific literature and provide written summaries.
Relevant tobacco industry experience;
Expertise in both quantitative and qualitative study design and analytic methods; and,
Experience in cognitive testing and survey item tracking.
