Department/Unit Summary The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care services to Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH), Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt (Children's Hospital), Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH) and The Vanderbilt Medical Group (VMG). This patient-centered service is provided through the Patient Care Center organization and clinic structure. The role of the Pharmacy is to promote safe and effective medication therapy for all patients and to provide oversight and leadership of the medication use system. For more information visit our website: http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/root/vumc.php?site=pharmacy The Vanderbilt Transplant Center, one of the largest organ transplant programs in the Southeast, currently offers vibrant programs in liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, lung, and bone marrow transplantation. For more than 50 years, beginning with the first transplant in 1962, we have helped restore more than 8,500 people to health. The team performed more than 500 organ transplants during the last fiscal year. Outcomes across our programs meet or exceed national standards. Your Role: This Clinical Pharmacist will be a member of the Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Team. This team provides care in a variety of areas, including renal/pancreas, liver, lung, heart, and pediatrics. This pharmacist will be one of three Heart/Lung Transplant Clinical Pharmacists. Pharmacists are an integral aspect of patient care at Vanderbilt, with a strong presence and excellent relationships with physicians and nursing partners across all specialties. Collaboration and integration with pharmacy, nursing and medical staff, and excellent communication skills are essential.
