Nemours is seeking a Patient Flow Supervisor-RN (Clinical Operations Center) - FULL-TIME/NIGHT SHIFT 6P-6A to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.

Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. The Patient Flow Supervisor is responsible for the overall movement of patients in a safe and efficient manner. This position is responsible for promoting a family centered access to care model. The position is also responsible for the coordination and supervision of the clinical logistic activities and staff of the Clinical Logistics Center.
Promotes a family-centered care model promoting the nurse patient relationship and the professional role of the nurse.
Directs staff regarding prioritization and patient flow.
Coordinates admissions and transfers including assigning patients to inpatient beds.
Monitors room availability and turnover.
Collaborates with other departments to mitigate delays in sub-processes, including lab, imaging, pharmacy, environmental services and consults.
Sets priorities for patient placement for ED admits, clinic admits, direct admits and surgical admits.
Leads bed huddles to convey unit information regarding patients, unit activity, staffing and through put.
Supervises clinical logistics staff, promoting a healthy work environment.
Insures adequate training of new staff and ongoing training of existing staff.
Maintains adequate coverage in the clinical logistic area and when necessary
Provides justification for changes in staffing levels.
Assists in hiring, counseling and providing disciplinary actions to staff as necessary.
Provides feedback to staff on an ongoing basis utilizing the Nemours standards of behavior.
Performs annual performance review for all clinical logistics staff.
Assesses the appropriateness of available tools and resources to staff on an ongoing basis.
Leads quality improvement projects designed to improve nursing clinical outcomes, patient through put and patient satisfaction.
Maintains accountability for defined quality measures related to patient through put times.
Embraces other duties as assigned to support the Nemours vision/mission.
Minimum of 3 years pediatric nursing experience required; Emergency Department and Inpatient nursing experience preferred.
Management experience preferred.
Current RN licensure in the state of Florida required.
Valid American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire required.
Current PALS certification required.
Ability to set priorities and manage time and resources efficiently required.
Excellent assessment, communication and listening skills required.
Ability to work as part of the inter-disciplinary team accepting and giving feedback appropriately.
Ability to make decisions, think pro-actively and accept change.
Excellent record keeping and written communication skills required.
Ability to remain current on technological aspects of nursing and maintain skill competency.
