CPE Supervisor recruits excellent students to participate in all levels of Clinical Pastoral Education: Level I, Level II and Supervisory Education. Conduct didactics, IPR , Individual supervision, verbatim seminars and writes evaluations for CPE students as assigned. Assist with administrative functions related to the CPE program. Follows the Standards of ACPE and makes sure the educational program meets Accreditation Standards. Creatively networks throughout the hospital system to promote and advance new CPE Programs.
Provides spiritual care to patients, families, staff and volunteers 40% of week.
Responsible to maintain compliance with national educational ACPE Standards.
Other tasks as assigned by Director of Spiritual Care.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates experience and comfort with use of technology.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Demonstrates experience working as part of a patient’s care team.
Demonstrates experience working with a diverse student group and diverse patient population.
Demonstrates knowledge of major faith groups, pastoral theology, dynamics of loss and grief, and of crisis theory and intervention is necessary.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
ACPE Certification as ACPE Supervisor or Associate Supervisor required within one year of employment.
M. Div. or equivalent required.
Minimum of one to two years supervisory experience in an accredited ACPE program required.
Chaplaincy experience in a medical setting required.
Ordination or commissioning by recognized faith group.
Ecclesiastical endorsement from recognized faith group or denomination.
Board Certification from APC, NACC, NAJC preferred.
