Summary:

Conducts patrols and perform other security duties to maintain a safe environment for all persons interacting within the hospital; to protect the physical property of the facility, its patients, visitors and staff. To intervene in situations involving unruly/combative individuals with emphasis on defusing potentially violent behavior.

Experience:

Associates or Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and/or police academy training that fulfills requirements for licensure as a Special Policy Officer through the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety, Department of State Police

Education Requirements:

Prior employment in security or law enforcement, educational background in criminal justice or training in law enforcement. Experience in hospital security preferred but not required. Ability to read, write and comprehend English language. Required skills: typing, computer, report writing, self-motivation.

Professional Licensure & Certifications:

Favorable response through Comm. of Mass Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI check). Valid Mass Driver�s License. Meets requirements for licensure by Massachusetts Dept. Public Safety/State Police as Special Police Officer. Satisfactorily complete annual licensing requirement as set forth by DPS/Mass State Police.
