Work Hours/Shift:

Part Time Days, Exempt

You Will Be Responsible For:

·    Manage the stroke program, specifically to ensure implementation of the PI plan and ensure loop closure.

·    Review care delivered to stroke patients and identify care issues and/or processes for improvement.

·    Identify staff learning needs and collaborate with Nursing Education Department to develop educational activities related to stroke care.

·    Collaborate with other clinical departments to develop processes that enhance patient care and throughput throughout the continuum of care.

What You Will Need:

·   Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

·   Critical care or Emergency Department nursing experience; with a minimum of 2 years of experience

·   Current Texas or multi-state Compact RN license

·   ACLS and NIHSS

·   National Certification or obtain within 1 year.

·   BSN required MSN preferred

·   Cerner experience preferred.

·   Registry/abstraction experience

Job Summary

·    Stroke Program Coordinator has the authority to manage the program throughout the continuum of care and across multidisciplinary lines of service

·    Stroke Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that Texas Health Huguley remains in compliance with all regulatory requirements to maintain and Stroke Center Designation.

·    Stroke Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality and safe care is delivered to our patients.

·    Works with all stroke clinical outcome activities related to THH Disease Specific Certification.

·    Maintains an efficient and accurate method of abstracting, analyzing and distributing outcome data in a consistent manner while maintaining quality of data.

·         Participates in Quality Improvement processes based on data outcomes.
