The University of California, Davis, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is recruiting for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry for licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in psychosis research A full-time faculty position (Clin X Series) is available in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Assistant/Associate Professor level of Clinical Psychiatry for a Clinical Psychologist and cognitive neuroscientist with expertise in psychotic disorders. The candidate must possess a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and be Licensed in the state of California. Demonstrated clinical expertise in the assessment and care of individuals in the early phases of psychosis, the Coordinated Specialty Care model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis, and social cognitive neuroscience methods is required. Preferred qualifications include additional expertise in experience sampling methods, developmental models of psychosis, and treatment of comorbid psychosis and trauma. Strong applicants will have at least 8 years specialty experience working in an early psychosis clinical setting and an established track record of research investigating the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying social functioning impairments in psychosis. The individual selected for the position will be expected to build a successful, independent research program and demonstrate excellence in clinical service, teaching and university service. Specific responsibilities include: 1) investigating social cognitive mechanisms underlying development and maintenance of psychosis symptoms using both neuroimaging and behavioral methods, 2) successfully competing for extramural funding to evaluate developmental models of psychosis and develop novel therapeutic interventions for neuropsychiatric disorders, and 3) training and supervision of clinical psychology trainees and other staff in the UC Davis Early Psychosis Program. Additional responsibilities include interdisciplinary collaborations with faculty from diverse backgrounds and participation in large-scale, team science initiatives. This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant/Associate Rank in the Clin X professor series, and the resulting hires will be at the Assistant/Associate rank in this series regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has approximately 65 residents in six residency training programs and 90 faculty and staff psychiatrists and psychologists at the UC Davis Medical Center and the Northern California VA Health System.
