In this key position, you will oversee, examine and medically manage patient work-related injuries. This will involve determining the cause of each injury, the work related-apportionment of the injury, and the patient’s activity status. You will:

• Determine neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, including trigger point, tendon sheath, and intra-articular joint injections
• Conduct disability case reviews with advanced practice providers
• Develop a medical plan of action, including the need for permanent restrictions
• Determine when patient has reached maximum medical improvement (MMI).
• Conduct disability case reviews with Risk Management Disability managers
• Manage complex patient cases to determine the need for additional diagnostic testing, specialty consultation, and indicated procedures
• Complete MMI reports
• Perform pre-placement physicals
• Maintain exams for UCLA personnel, including BSL-3 researchers and commercial motor vehicle drivers
• Collaborate with clinical staff to improve work flow and patient outcomes
• Attend interdepartmental meetings relating to workers’ compensation care and employee health
• Collaborate with Occupational Health Medical Director to ensure ideal clinical staffing, patient care, and intradepartmental communication
