PRN -OT Dynamic outpatient, hand therapy opportunity at New Mexicoâs only Level 1 trauma center and the stateâs premier teaching hospital. The successful applicant can anticipate a caseload composed of 70 â 100% hand patients including a large percentage of post-surgical and traumatic hand injuries. The remaining caseload will be a general O.T. caseload including some patients with neurological injuries. Educational opportunities abound including the opportunity to participate in the Department of Orthopaedics Hand Fellows meetings and provide services alongside hand surgeons in orthopaedic clinics. Many of our therapists also teach in the UNM O.T. and P.T. Therapy educational programs. CHT preferred, however, therapists with hand therapy experience are encouraged to apply and, if selected, will be supported with a strong mentorship program. Organize and deliver occupational therapy to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically-impaired following disease, injury, or surgical intervention. Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance; facilitate learning of skills and functions necessary for adaptation and productivity. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups. |
