Summary

Behavioral Health Therapist Leads the clinical planning, implementation and evaluation process. Behavioral Health Therapist Provides therapy for patients and their families including but not limited to group therapy, both psychological group and/or psycho-educational group, individual therapy group and family therapy group. Involved also in in the psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning and placement. Behavioral Health Therapist Performs specific interventions for patients with behavioral and psychiatric illness. Maintains clean and orderly patient care areas, equipment and supplies. Behavioral Health Therapist May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department director or nurse manager. Conduct group with adult and geriatric patient populations. Behavioral Health Therapist Performs psychosocial assessments in a timely manner. Completes Baker Act forms in a timely manner. Maintains a therapeutic milieu.

Requirements:

• Masters degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or marital family.
• Two years experience in an acute behavioral health care setting.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in the english language.
• Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to detect changes in human psychologocical and physiological condition.
• Able to perform effectively in a fast paced, stressful environment.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Valid Florida license as an LCSW, LMHC or LMFT.
• Current American Heart Association BLS card
• Current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) card.
