RN Salary Range: Candidate's education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy. This position is located in the Nursing Service at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA. The Registered Nurse will serve as a Nurse Case Manager for non-rehab medical/surgical spinal cord patients as well as newly injured rehab patients. The case manager will monitor supplies at the bedside, reduce waste from excess supplies and overnight shipping of supplies to avoid delay in care, increase patient satisfaction and decrease length of stay. The incumbent will collaborate with diverse acute medical and non-rehab interdisciplinary teams and meet the project workload demands across the continuum. Th incumbent will receive consultations for identification of resources to meet patients' activities of daily living, assisted or total care needs, safe storage, and administration of supplies. DESIGNATED DRUG-TESTING POSITION: Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test result is received. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 08:00 a.m. to 04:30 p.m. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
