Our new Center for Pediatric Precision Medicine (CPPM) is focused on improving clinical outcomes for children and families by supporting research, accelerating translation, and providing training that facilitates the incorporation of precision medicine into pediatric care. We are looking for an experienced program manager with experience in program building who can be responsible for both 1) helping refine strategic plan and 2) supporting the implementation of our precision medicine efforts in areas of research, training, and clinical care. Prior experience in program management is required. Experience in research and grant writing is preferred, as the program manager will also be responsible assisting in the development of study protocols and grant documents. Content expertise in clinical pediatrics, genomics, informatics and/or other topic areas relevant to pediatric precision medicine is preferred. Our Center is seeing to build a supportive team environment for all Center members, so working as a part of a team is an essential component of this job. The Program Manger will report to the Center Co-Directors.
Academic General Pediatrics at Children's Hospital improves the health of children and families, especially those with higher risk for poor health outcomes. As a medical home, we provide comprehensive, family-based, coordinated care. Our programs range from primary care clinics across the region to specialized clinics focused on child behavior , to referral services for families involved in international adoption . We also direct the Newborn Nursery at Vanderbilt to give families with new infants a healthy start and allow for good continuity of care. Our training of the next generation of pediatric primary care doctors and specialists and our advancement of discoveries impact children across the country and the around the world.

Additional Key Elements/ Responsibilities:
Help refine the Center for Pediatric Precision Medicine 1 year and 5 year strategic plans
Facilitate meetings with faculty in the Department of Pediatrics and with leaders of relevant resources through VUMC (e.g. VICTR, BioVU, Core Laboratories, Training Programs, etc.)
Assist with recruitment of faculty to the Center
Provide support to Center Directors and Members in writing study protocols and grants
Coordinate activities for the Precision Medicine Academy
Recruit trainees to the Precision Medicine Academy
Maintain the Center website
Facilitate relationships with other similar centers at peer pediatric institutions
Assist in developing faculty- and community-facing social media networks
Support the Center in cultivating philanthropic support
Work with Departmental Administrative Team to oversee the Center budget
Work well with other team members, including adhering to professional communication standards
Be organized and self-directed
* Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 3 years experience
Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 24 months of experience in these areas is preferred. Relevant Master's Degree or PhD preferred. A background in Program Management / Project Management and experience working in pediatric health care environment is preferred.
