Incumbent retains the authority/responsibility to operate/direct the program. Retains direct programmatic responsibility for the Health Care for Homeless Veterans program at the El Paso VA Health Care System and the coordinating function involves assuring resources for the homeless are accessible and coordinated within the catchment area for this medical center. This vacancy will remain open until filled. The first cut-off date is 02/17/2021. Additional applications will be referred as needed. Duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for functional leadership and coordination of HCHV program staff as designated by the HCHV Supervisory Social Worker and Chief of Behavioral Health Services Responsibility for the development, coordination, selection and evaluation of community residences in the catchment area Facilitate the interpretation and application of VA Guidelines to ensure standards maintained to promote the health, safety, welfare, and happiness of the homeless Veteran In consultation with the HCHV Supervisory Social Worker and Behavioral Health Services, the incumbent makes recommendations for filling clinical and other program positions and further prepares the HCHV Program staff to form a functioning interdisciplinary team Provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, and staff development on a regular basis Coordinating staff development, in-service training, and continuing education programs Planning, coordinating and evaluating all aspects of the HCHV Program to ensure the provision of quality care and continuity of service Representing the HCHV Program both within the VA medical center and the community at large. Collaborating with community agencies and other VA programs to develop and implement services for homeless Veterans Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required This is a Bargaining Unit position
