Ambulatory Care Service is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the team! The Telehealth Clinical Technician serves in a generalist role to support and manage telehealth clinical encounters from the patient and provider location as the site Telepresenter, imager for telehealth store and forward applications, clinic manager for real time telehealth events, including patient education activities, provision of equipment for the HT program, technical and scheduling activities. Duties include, but are not limited to: Performs telehealth imaging, including tele-retinal screening, tele-dermatology, tele wound care imaging and other telehealth programming as technology becomes available. Initiates consultations for patients on behalf of the primary care provider, who retains responsibility for patient care. The imager will document all clinical information in the electronic medical record (CPRS). Imager may perform auxiliary testing such as visual acuity, papillary function assessment by penlight, estimation of anterior chamber angle depth, intraocular pressure, dilation and a visual field assessment. Provides patient education regarding the imaging process. Serves as a patient site clinical coordinator and manager for telehealth services in assigned clinics. Responsible for the patient site clinical, business, scheduling and technical aspects for real-time telehealth applications, including, all specialty and primary care telehealth encounters. Installs, maintains, inventories and trains staff on all video-conferencing technologies, telehealth peripherals including stethoscopes, Otoscope, ultrasound, Doppler's technology and scheduling software used to coordinate, manage resources and connect staff, resources, patients and providers in the manner effective to delivery of services, patient care, education and training. Opens the telehealth patient room, readies the equipment for the examination, training, education, access, and establishes the online, video conferencing or other connections. Screens patients and determines the cognitive, physical, and emotional and chronological development of adult and geriatric patients in effecting appropriate inter/intra facility and outpatient transportation. Orients the patient to all telehealth services such as home telehealth, store and forward, and clinical video telehealth. Can be cross-trained to perform a range of direct care duties that may include, but are not limited to such things as performing temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation measurements, measuring height and weight, and patient transfers in support of the primary care of specialty clinics.
