Unit has 16 beds
The unit team consists oftwo attending psychiatrists, each with a team of residents and medical students that rotate;two case managers; one occupational therapists; RNs; psychiatric associates; and health unit coordinators.
Station22 is a University of MNPsychiatry teaching unit and serves patients with primary thought disorders. Station 22providesa unique workenvironment of collaborative teaching and learning that is exciting and allows for opportunities to learn and grow in this field.
The Psych Associate is responsible for the delivery of patient care, and promotion of a therapeutic environment as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN so that the goals and objectives of treatment are achieved on each unit as assigned. Physical Demands:Sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull, stooping/crouching, finger dexterity, speaking,hearing and visual. Mental Demands:Frequent people contact, irregular work schedule, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decisions making skills, concentration, ability to work independently, multitasking, organizations skills, working with others. Physical Environment:Noise, infectious disease, moving machinery, fumes/gases, human tissue/fluids, radiation, telephone usage, chemicals, biohazard matl and work inside.
Basic Life Support Certification
Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Human Services Field
