The Senior Social Worker in the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) is expected to work with special patient populations with highly complex health or mental health problems, and to provide clinical supervision to social work staff on similarly complex cases. The senior social worker may be assigned administrative responsibility for clinical program development and is accountable for clinical program effectiveness and modification of service patterns. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following: Works collaboratively within the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP Receive and complete requests for services from Veterans, interdisciplinary team members and from other providers using advanced practice skills and expertise Provide collaboration, coordination, and consultation to interdisciplinary team members. Interviews clients and completes Mental Health History and Assessments for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning Provides time limited, evidence based individual and or group psychotherapy, utilizing principals of Measurement based care to evaluate client progress and adjust treatment as appropriate Provides same day services, which may include but not limited to: assessing for suicidality and homicidality, provide VA and community resources and referrals, apply crisis intervention techniques, initiate therapy referrals, and coordinate services with various internal or external providers Performs Case Management functions to include but not limited to providing appropriate VA and community resources and referral Program Coordination/Process and Policy Improvement Projects: Actively participate in program planning and development, advising the supervisor of shifting trends with caseloads and identifying the need for and making recommendations on program procedure or policy changes based upon work experiences. Inputs data into required program databases as appropriate. Participate in planning and executing specific staff development projects, attending seminars and institutes, and participating in training programs of other disciplines as requested. Serves as a mentor to other Social Worker staff members, particularly those at the entry level. Provides day-to-day direction for Social Workers, and other Social Work Service staff members. Is viewed by Social Workers and interdisciplinary team members as a senior clinician with advanced practice skills and expertise. May serve as a clinical team lead for multiple social work staff, to include peer supports. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - Flexible Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
