The GS-0185-09 Social Worker does not yet have a license that allows independent practice and must be supervised by a licensed independent practitioner of the same discipline who is a VA staff member and who has access to CPRS. The social worker serves as a member of a multidisciplinary Housing and Urban Development Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) team and is responsible for coordinating and providing individual and family counseling and case management services. The social worker; conducts outreach in the community, assessment interviews, develops treatment plans and provides treatment to HUD VASH eligible Veterans and their families. Treatment modalities may include crisis intervention, intake evaluations, outreach services as well as empirically based treatment for family, couples, and mental health conditions. The social worker may refer clients to other programs and professionals as appropriate. TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional by car to travel to Veterans homes and or in the community to conduct Outreach and assist Veterans with housing as needed.
