This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Learn more The Senior Social Worker is a member of the Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences (MHBS) Service Line of the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System (NAVAHCS) and is located at the Anthem Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), Anthem, AZ. The incumbent's primary responsibilities are to provide expert clinical services and consultation to include comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments and evidence-based interventions; consultation to other CBOC medical and mental health providers, community outreach and resource coordination to facilitate seamless mental health treatment of Veterans who live in rural locations to the respective CBOC. The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing expert mental health assessment and psychotherapy services for Veterans at the respect CBOC, while ensuring compliance with Veterans Health Administration (VHA), NAVAHCS, and VA Mental Health initiatives. Participating in direct Veteran, family, and Caregiver assessment and treatment to identify and assess risk, safety, supports and the development and application of evidence-based clinical treatment interventions. Consulting with, serving as a liaison to and providing referrals to NAVAHCS and VA mental health, medical and other services to various stakeholders within the facility. Keeping abreast of state and community resources and serving as consultant for information on negotiating the complex processes that Veterans, their families and caregivers encounter when interacting with other government and community agencies. Participating in outreach activities (e.g., Veteran Stand Downs, Vet Centers, community hospitals, resource fairs, etc.,), at times serving as a liaison for the various MHBS and NAVACHS service lines. Working with MHBS, NAVAHCS, and as appropriate Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN) and VA Central Office (VACO), in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical guidelines, protocols and outcomes to ensure maximal access to and utilization of mental health services at the CBOCs.
