Licensed Practical Nurse-Acute Care
Qualifying experience is successful nursing practices (as an LPN/LVN,) maintaining acceptable standards within a health care setting under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) or physician (MD/DO/NP). This may include experience as a GPN (GVN) (graduated practical nurse) provided the candidate was utilized as a practical or vocational nurse and passed the State Licensure examination on the first attempt. Recognizes changes in the patient's condition, behavior and /or comfort. Reports observations and interventions to the RN or PCP and records observations and interventions in the electronic medical record. Takes and records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and pulse oximetry) including pain level. Reports abnormal vital signs and pain level immediately to RN or PCP. D
