Summary: The Guest Relations Attendant/Screener is responsible for providing exceptional customer service. In this high profile role it is crucial to provide a good first impression by greeting everyone who enters the lobby. The Attendant is responsible for providing visitor passes and giving accurate directions. Must be able to work in stressful circumstances and maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance. Able to anticipate the needs of each patient/visitor. The attendant is responsible for screening patients, staff and visitors for temperature and virus symptoms.
Other information:
One year customer service experience. Must have excellent communication and public relations skills. Demonstrate basic computer skills. Able to handle stressful situations. Must be able to push patients/visitors in wheelchairs to their destinations.
Valid Delaware drivers license required with no more than one at fault accident of any type in the last three years and/or no more than three moving violations in the last three years.
May be required to cover other locations.
Responsibilities: Performs Attendant/Greeter functions including but not limited to: Greets everyone entering/exiting the lobby. Asks all visitors, patients, vendors, team members, doctors for identification. Provides visitor passes to those who do not have a Beebe Medical Center issued badge or RepTrax generated badge. Verifies patient/visitor destination. Provides accurate directions. Takes patient, visitor, or staff temperature. Asks screening questions for virus symptoms. Provides a mask for any person entering who does not have a mask. First Impressions: Realizes this position is the entry way into Medical Center. Voice, appearance, behavior must support excellent customer service at all times. Is seen as a resource to patients and visitors at all times. Follows departmental and hospital policies for dress code and cell phone. Anticipates patients/visitors needs including but not limited to: assisting patients/visitors with wheelchairs, transporting to their destination via wheelchair, physically escorting to their destination. Follows policy to provide routine information to the public about hospital departments, team members, patients and meetings. Follows all HIPAA requirements and the "need to know". Ability to handle stressful situations. Is a problem solver by using critical thinking skills to assist patients/visitors. Responds to emergency events & hospital lobby emergencies following established protocol. Advises destination department of any patient who fails to pass screening questions or temperature check per protocol and responds accordingly. Advises any team member who fails to pass screening questions or temperature check recommended next steps per protocol. Advises any visitor who fails to pass screening questions or temperature check per protocol. Maintains necessary records. Ensures there is adequate supplies to perform the job. Care for/maintain department supplies and equipment in accordance to policies, including thermometers and other items necessary for screening patients. Ensures a clean working environment by keeping area neat and free of debris. Occasionally performs valet services of parking, retrieving and delivering customer vehicles for the account establishment. Safe operation of customer vehicles in accordance with all applicable laws, ordinances and policies. Other duties as assigned to assist in departmental needs.
