We have an exciting new role for a Senior Social Worker at the Sacramento VA Medical Center.
The candidate will be assigned to Mental Health Service within the Addiction Recovery Treatment Services (ARTS) Program and function as a part of an outpatient addiction interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will develop innovative avenues to expand access to addiction treatment in settings outside of Addiction Specialty Care. As such, the position is embedded within acute care settings including the Emergency Department (ED) and Behavioral Health Intensive Care Unit (BHICU). The incumbent will establish relationships with key players and act as a liaison between Addiction Specialty Care and Acute Care services.
Responsibilities are focused on Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The candidate will utilize a full range of psychosocial treatment modalities with individuals, couples, and families to enhance motivation for treatment. Services will generally be provided in the ED/BHICU, outpatient clinic, and under certain circumstances via telehealth. That said, this is not a remote/virtual assignment, rather it requires onsite presence to assist with transitions of care between the ED and outpatient substance abuse treatment.
Salary: $90,626 - $117,818 per year
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Telework: If authorized, would be on a regularly scheduled basis not to exceed two days week

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Authorized, EDRP is a student loan payment reimbursement program.
